Muhammad Mushfiqur Rahman likes that his job gives him the freedom to execute an audit plan and that management listens to his comments and suggestions and empowers him to establish a plan accordingly. Despite working with a great team, Rahman sometimes encounters challenges in his work, but his Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA®) certification has helped him address those challenges. “Life is full of challenges,” Rahman says. “Most of the…obstacles are in implementing best practices and implementation of audit in the IT environment. The CISA certification helps me overcome these challenges through better understanding of these issues.”

Rahman decided to pursue the CISA certification in 2012 because he knew it could help enhance his technical skills. Additionally, having the certification indicates to potential employers that he has the skills they need. “The CISA certification, which is globally recognized in information systems audit, can help my career,” he says. “The criteria for the certification is constant and has a high degree of visibility in the fields of IT audit, IT security, IT governance and risk management. It also affirms that the certified professional possesses a strong baseline along with a set of auditing skills.”

In addition to finding a job, Rahman believes that the CISA certification helps people advance to the next stage of their careers. “The CISA credential prepared me to move up the ladder into a senior or managerial position,” he says. “The CISA certification identifies me as a competent professional on a global scale. The CISA certification helped me to enhance my expertise through practice.”

Rahman highly recommends the CISA certification to anyone who wants a holistic understanding of IT security policies, procedures, auditing and best practices. “The CISA certification gives an overall idea about the whole IT security infrastructure and it is a best practice analysis,” he says.
